Labour market policy
The objective of initiatives in the labour market area is to contribute to a well-functioning labour market. Initiatives should also contribute to the primary aims of economic policy and the Government's goal of full employment. To achieve the goal of a well-functioning labour market, better matching is needed, stable employment levels must rise over time, and the role of unemployment insurance as readjustment insurance must be safeguarded.
The labour market area of activity primarily covers: matching those seeking work with available jobs, labour market programmes, unemployment insurance, wage guarantee payments, the European Social Fund, and the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish ESF Council, the Swedish Unemployment Insurance Board and the Institute for Labour Market Policy Evaluation.
