The second brochure 'Sweden - the new culinary nation' explains the Government's vision, which is an initiative to create more jobs, above all through food production in combination with tourism. The brochures are available for download or for order from the Government website.
Wood construction in focus at Nordic conference
Decision-makers and experts from across the Nordic region will gather to discuss wood construction at the Wood Construction Conference in Växjö on 9 April. Minister for Rural Affairs Eskil Erlandsson will be there to speak about the Government's investment in the Forest Kingdom vision and about wood construction as one of the focus areas of this vision.
UN International Day of Forests
On Thursday 21 March the first UN International Day of Forests will be celebrated. The idea of marking the importance of the world's forests for sustainable development on a designated day each year was proposed during the UN's International Year of Forests in 2011. Activities will be organised around the world on 21 March, at local, national and international level, to raise awareness of the multiple values of the forest.
